Dr. Frisina was nominated for the 2011 Lewis W. Blackman Safety Champion Award in the Patient Advocate category. The awards program, cosponsored by the South Carolina Hospital Association, PHTS Services, Health Sciences of South Carolina, Mothers Against Medical Error, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina, recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exemplary dedication and leadership in advancing the quality and safety of health care for patients across South Carolina.
We are pleased to officially announce that Dr. Frisina has been chosen to serve on the South Carolina Hospital Association Leadership Team to plan and execute “Safe Surgery 2015.” This initiative continues to be one of our major quality improvement and patient safety programs that has the full support and endorsement of our SCHA Board and Quality Council. This program was developed to assist all SC acute care hospitals in the effective application of the World Health Organization surgical safety checklist and the training of surgical teams to effectively use crew resource management (CRM) team-based communication in all surgical cases and settings.
Dr. Frisina has been re-selected to serve on the Chief Learning Officer Magazine, Business Intelligence Board for 2012 participating in research into business practices served by learning and development initiatives and article preparation for publication throughout the year.
Dr. Frisina was selected to receive the American College of Health Care Executives 2012 Educational Development Award. His winning proposal,”Reducing the Financial Impact of Hospital Readmissions and Medical Mistakes”,will be offered as a new seminar at the Chicago ACHE learning cluster in 2012.
Dr. Frisina was recognized by the Hospital and Health Networks most read contributing author for 2009.
